Odd Delicacies Around the World: Part 2
It has a big, bulbous head… beady black eyes… and eight squirming tentacles. It’s the octopus. Many would call it ugly and disgusting. The one thing they wouldn’t call it is dinner.
In the far reaches of Papula New Guinea, the Karan Tribesman hunt a delectable dish. It has fur, fangs and claws. And it’s not something most Westerners would dare to taste. It’s a bat – the flying fox bat, to be precise.
One California man would like more of us to eat insects. He even adds them to the ingredients of candy in his candy store.
